About Maija
For twenty years, Maija has been launching new violinists into a life of musical exploration, increased self-confidence and fun. Maija’s Suzuki Training is from Michelle George, Carol Sykes and Edmund Sprunger among others. She also enjoys sharing her passion for Scottish fiddling with her students.
In addition to teaching youngsters, Maija freelances in and around the Boston area as a performer of violin and a viola. She holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from Boston University where she studied with Steve Ansel, principal violist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She maintains a private studio in Milton, Massachusetts.
Maija is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the Suzuki Association of Massachusetts.
